Monthly Update

Good afternoon 

Just a quick update to the NHW coordinators in the Derby East area

Two males have recently been arrested for theft from motor vehicles, one has been remanded. 

On week commencing Monday 18th May will be Op Sceptre week which is a week of knife crime prevention, this will include knife sweeps in areas that have been identified as having youths in the area that we believe are possibly dealing drugs and will possibly carrying knives. We are aware that these individuals will potentially have knives on them and when they see officers they will hide them in bushes so of stop searched they will not have anything on them. 

We will also be stood outside local secondary schools with the knife amnesty bin, this is not to suggest that we believe that the students have knives on them but to have a conversation with the pupils on why they feel people their age feel they have to carry knives
